It Gets Earlier Every Year!…
The Ohh Social App is getting all festive! And whilst this might seem completely ridiculous in late August, if you work in Belfast you will know that if you haven’t got your Christmas ‘do’ booked by now, you’re pretty stuffed! (sorry).
The Knife & Fork Grill is a recent addition to the list of Ohh Social Partners. The Grill sits inside the award winning Malone Lodge Hotel on Eglantine Avenue, South Belfast. I was among a group of lucky ducks invited along to sample a selection of mini dishes from their Christmas menu.

The restaurant is offering ‘Christmas Party Night’ bookings throughout December and will also be open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year;s Eve and New Year’s Day for a chance to skip all the prep, blood, sweat, tears and a mountain of dishes but still enjoy a mighty feast of fantastic food in a very classy & relaxed setting.
Using the Ohh Social App on your Christmas Party Night will also get you a free glass of prosecco, nice! 🍾🥂
On the Night
Such consistency and high quality in the selection of starters, mains and desserts laid out for us, complete with Santa hats, Christmas tree and a dapper, very talented gent singing and swinging Sinatra style through a whole set of festive tunes. Slightly surreal on a late summer evening to say the least!
The food was first class and included for starters, classic baby ceasar salad and a beetroot salad with goats cheese bonbon (loved this). Among the mains was a beef in red wine jus with honey parsnip mash & parsnip crisps. Game pie of pheasant rabbit & venison (my favourite). Pan fried Sea bass with lyonaisse potatoes, kale, rocket & almond pesto and a wild mushroom risotto.
For dessert there was a chocolate hazelnut pot, banoffee & chocolate and a lovely tart lemon curd. Great variety and not a sniff of roast turkey in the air. I really love the inclusion of the game pie, something very different for a Christmas menu option.
The Knife and Fork grill feels like a great place to spend some time with Family & friends whatever the reason. And if you fancy getting out of the house for the good old end of year Family arguements, look no further for a warm welcome and great food.
A huge thank you as always to Ursula and the Ohh Social crew for the invite and all the team at the Knife & Fork Grill.
