So I was very lucky to be invited to the launch of what is the 22nd season of Belfast Fashion Week sponsored by West Coast Cooler.
From the 20th to the 23rd of October there will be a full schedule of catwalk shows and other events at different locations throughout Belfast including Zen in Adelaide Street and Deane’s at Queens.
These events for the autumn/winter 16 season will showcase boutiques & high Street fashion, local designers, retailers, hair and make-up artists, and will include a ‘people’s catwalk’ and a seminar promoting positive body image.
At the launch, hosted by BFW Director Cathy Martin of CMPR and stylist & radio presenter Rebecca McKinney, were a selection of excellent food companies with a range of savoury and sweet nibbles to try. Of course I jumped in with both feet and even managed to have a wee chat with them all while I got the chance.
Serving up some scotched quails eggs were the Portrush Deli Co. I tried the chorizo and vegetarian versions, both were delicious. I’ll be calling into the Deli next time I’m up round the North coast.
Miel et Moi who are on the Lisburn Road were handing out their to die for cupcakes. These included Red Velvet and Toffee Fudge arranged on a very impressive display.
Skinny Malinkys and Panacea Drinks were letting us sample some tasty and healthy juices. I’d recommend trying the ‘Lean Green Detoxifying Machine’ from Skinny’s and ‘The Ginger One’ (great name) from Panacea.
Finally, Kaffe O who are based on the Ormeau Road had some dessert bites. Gluten free brownies and vegan blondies. I tried the amazing gluten free brownie and also their Nordic iced vanilla latte which was so good I had a sneaky second!
Thanks to Cathy, CMPR and the West Coast Cooler team for the invite and a great launch.

Hopefully the events in October will be equally as successful.
