The Bobbin | Belfast City Hall

The Bobbin, Belfast City Hall

Now here’s a great wee place. Located in one of the most beautiful buildings in the world (of course I’m slightly biased). Belfast City Hall itself is great to just wander into and around. Plonked right in the middle of the City Centre its presence both inside and out is grand and iconic.

A must do is a visit to The Bobbin Café which is run by Loaf Catering, a local social enterprise business (read more about what Loaf Catering do at http://www.loafcatering.com/).

There’s plenty on the menu for Breakfast & Lunch here whether you’re after something small (Why?!) or otherwise. Scones, croissants, 3Ss, hot sandwiches, baked spuds plus a fair collection of cakes & tray bakes. The tea & coffee are both Fairtrade and delicious and they have a good choice of speciality hot drinks, I love the ‘Winter Warmer’ cappuccino with butterscotch, gorgeous!

Staff here are friendly and know their stuff when it comes to what they sell. They use locally sourced produce which is always good to hear and the high ceiling and busy ‘buzz’ make it a nice space to sit in.

There are a couple of exhibitions on the history of Belfast which sit right in the cafe and add to its atmos & appeal. They are also handy for playing hide and seek or peek-a-boo with the kids (whatever keeps them happy!).

I’ve been here many times (which explains all the pics) and will return many more, kids ‘n’ all! Find out more about The Bobbin on the Belfast City Council website.
