Cafe Souk, Studio Souk, Castle Lane, Belfast City Centre
Nipped in here today with my wee 18 month old Son for a quick caffeine hit. I’d walked by it so many times in the past and didn’t know what to think so I decided to walk in and form an opinion.
The cafe area is at the front of the shop so prime people watching spot being on such a busy street and a great place to do it as despite the hustle and bustle on the outside, this place is laid back and relaxed.
The decor is very cool, everything is different, every table, every chair, every cup, every saucer… everything. ‘quirky’ is a word I’ve seen used elsewhere to describe Cafe Souk, I guess I would agree, and I love it.
The service was spot on, the barista’s work was impeccable (thanks Barry) and of course me being me I had to have a calorific slice of loveliness to go with my cappuccino, and they don’t get much better than this salted caramel brownie which was a-maz-ing! (My Son also loved it) Some other treats there too, all made locally as well as the 3S’s (see my post on The Bakery) so a good enough choice.
Needless to say I will be back here for more. Though it will be very hard to have anything other than a salted caramel brownie.
